Founded in 2021, Clear Shores LLC is a locally owned lake weed removal and landscaping business based out of Excelsior, Minnesota. With all 3 owners growing up on or near Lake Minnetonka, we understand what your lakefront means to you, and we’re dedicated to keeping it in perfect condition. We service residential and commercial properties and our DNR certified team was formed to provide Minnesota lakeshore owners with a chemical free option to control invasive and unwanted weeds in an environmentally friendly manner. Our experienced and professional team will leave your water and shoreline weed free to enjoy all summer long, giving you more time to spend with those you love, in the place you love.

Through environmentally friendly recycling methods, cleansing of all company equipment used during operations and quality control standards Clear Shores aims to create your dream lakefront property in the safest way possible.
Our Story
The concept of starting a lake weed removal company originated in 2018, when Max and Austin competed in the Minnetonka High School VANTAGE program’s annual Shark Tank competition. Both Juniors at the time, they conducted months-long research on the dangers that invasive species pose to our Minnesota lakes and the best possible solutions. The effective, long lasting, and eco-friendly method of removing these weeds by the root emerged as the most logical approach to tackling this problem.
With the solution now in hand, they created a 30 page business plan and presentation to participate in the Shark Tank competition. The practicality and sensibility of the business led to them winning the competition out of a pool of 20 other teams. After winning, they both knew the potential impact in preserving our beloved Minnesota lakes that this company could have. In 2021, Max and Austin took their vision and made it a reality when they founded Clear Shores LLC with Zack, who had multiple years of experience dealing with these aquatic pests.
